Teacher Appreciation Event

We got to be a part of a really great event today.  We served the faculty and staff at Cedar Grove Elementary School for an early-morning Christmas “party.”  They provided a wide array of pastries, cakes, and other light-fare breakfast goodies.  And we set up our mobile espresso bar as well as a brewed coffee station.

The featured specialty drink was “Christmas Mocha,” flavored with a hint of peppermint and vanilla and garnished with a dusting of cocoa and a candy cane!  We brewed Alliance World Coffees’ Midnight Clear Blend, a special, seasonal blend only available in the winter.  Christy and Wayne both started out with Santa hats!  Wayne made it about a minute (too hot!!), but Christy rocked the Santa-barista look the whole time!!

We want to specially thank Andy Moberly, principal of the school and Steve, the head custodian who helped us out immensely!

When the Mobile Cafe Comes to You

So, you want to bring On the Ground to your next event.  Great!  Now what?

What should you expect?  Are there any special needs we require of your space?  Any unique considerations?

When we set-up our mobile cafe, here are some things you’ll want to know.

On the Ground's Gloria Espresso MachineWe provide a mobile counter-unit that is 4′ x 3′ in dimension.  This is a great option for most events as it is beautifully designed in glazed maple wood and chocolate colored counter top.  It serves as a drink-preparation and serving station.

Our standard espresso bar package will include a commercial, two-group espresso machine.  This is the backbone of the cafe experience – you can read more about our machine here.  Additional services, like the frozen bar, will require a bit more space.  We have a stainless steel prep table that fits neatly behind the counter-unit where blended and iced drinks can be prepared.

In addition to the serving station, it’s usually a good idea to provide one additional 6′ banquet table.  The tables should have at least a 150 pound capacity.

If you want more details, including technical specifications and electrical needs for the mobile cafe, click here.

Why not schedule a free consultation right now and we’ll meet with you to discuss all the unique needs for your special event.

Men's Convention "Late Night Coffee House"

Men's Convention SetupWe had a great time serving a bunch of guys at the Kentucky State Men’s Convention for the Assembly of God.  It was held in the newly renovated multi-purpose room of Radcliff First Assembly of God.  What a great room – check out the cool stained glass behind the espresso machine!  Wish we could have a back-drop like that for every event!

The conference was a two day event with the “Late Night Coffee House” on Friday.  Local singer-songwriter, Matt Black, performed and did a great set.  He and his wife, Joanna, have produced two outstanding independent albums – check them out.

The staff and volunteers at Radcliff First Assembly of God did an excellent job.  We wish them all the best.  Thanks to the Kentucky State AoG Men’s Ministry team for the invitation.

At the State Theatre

Wayne and Christy at work

Robby and Tricia Payne’s wedding reception was sweet!  Really, “sweet” is the only way to describe it.  Nothing but desserts and coffee!  More than 250 people came to celebrate the couple’s new life together and it was an honor to be there with them.

We were glad to be able to help create the “cafe” atmosphere Robby and Tricia wanted.  They transformed the Gallery at Elizabethtown’s downtown State Theatre into a relaxed coffee shop environment with lots and lots of desserts, and of course, lattes and mochas for everyone!
